Biography
Dr. Frank Nemec founded Gastroenterology Associates in Las Vegas, NV in 1986. Born in 1953 in San Diego, CA, Dr. Nemec moved to the Silver State and has lived in Las Vegas since 1984. He received his medical degree from UCLA where his professors encouraged him to pursue a career in gastroenterology. Heeding their advice, Dr. Nemec went on to complete his residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of California, Davis.
One of the things about gastroenterology that Dr. Nemec particularly enjoys and wants to share with patients, is that most of the chronic gastrointestinal conditions he sees can be successfully treated—patients get better and therefore feel better. He is also quite proud about his and his staff’s ability to deliver quality, compassionate care to Las Vegas residents facing gastrointestinal issues.
Dr. Nemec was a Commissioned Commander with the Medical Corps in United States Navy Reserve and holds professional certifications including the National Board of Medical Examiners, medical licenses in Nevada and California and a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Gastroenterology.
Over the course of his career in medicine, Dr. Nemec has been recognized with a number of honors and is also a published contributor to articles regarding gastroenterology.
During his time away from the practice, Dr. Nemec enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and the family dog. His hobbies include playing the piano, tennis and backpacking in the Grand Canyon.
